Spring is here! The frogs are singing, wildflowers are waking, the poison oak is growing a foot a day, everything is green! It is a great time to make meaningful connections with nature. This session, as with every KOE session, we will continue to strengthen our connections with our natural surroundings.
Some of the activities we will be doing this session include: Understanding time from a Native American perspective. We will create our own calender, renaming the months according to what is happening in our physical environment throughout the year, we will make Moon Sticks to keep count of the months for the year. We will learn about camouflage, how animals use it, how people used it for hunting and survival and we will make our own camouflage capes for some exciting camouflage games we will play. We will learn about the different families of animals living in the Santa Monica Mountains, native vs. invasive plants, how everything is interconnected, what an ecosystem is, how we can be good stewards and so much more.
Ages 5-10
Classes limited to 8-10 children
(If you are interested in a KOE class for your child that is older please contact me.)
Cost: $165.00 (includes materials fee)
