Plant Profiles

The plant profile pages are meant to give insight and inspiration to learn more about our native plants and their traditional uses. It is very important that you are 100% positive about the identity of a plant before you pick it to consume for food or medicine. If you are not sure, please ask a trained herbalist or botanist to properly ID it for you.

If you are interested in learning how to identify and use the plants at home, please join a Keepers of the Earth Gathering Class or workshop. Private individual and small group herb walks can be arranged as well.

Disclaimer: The pages in the Plant Profile section present a description and history of the medicinal uses of these plants. The intention is not to provide specific medical advice. You should consult your personal physician or health practitioner before taking any form of herbs or medication.
