Herbal Apprenticeship
for young girls
Fall Module beginning: October 3rd, 2012
Wednesdays 2-4:30pm in topanga
The way of learning through apprenticeship is rare in our modern times. Institutions have replaced the intimate relationships that once developed between teacher and student. This unique program is not so much about training the next generation of clinical herbalists, but rather it will provide an opportunity for young girls (ages 8-15) to learn valuable life skills in an intimate setting with nature as their classroom.
The skills learned in the Herbal Apprenticeship or Mentorship program include much more than learning about the plant world and how to use plants as medicine, but will provide a backdrop for deep self exploration and empowerment. Life skills that will be carried with them always.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This program, like all of Keepers of the Earth programs will focus on
fostering CONNECTION:
CONNECTION TO NATURE: and a more profound understanding of our place in it
CONNECTION TO THE PLANT WORLD: making friends and developing relationships with the plants.
CONNECTION WITH OTHER YOUNG GIRLS: and sharing in a safe environment.
CONNECTION WITH SELF: gaining greater personal understanding and empowerment
CONNECTION WITH A MENTOR: that can guide and honor them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Herbal Apprenticeship will have 4 seasonal modules, beginning fall 2012.
Each module will take the students deeply into each season, allowing students to develop a very close
and personal relatiosnhip with the plant world and a greater understanding of the
interconnectedness of all things.
Each Module is 8 weeks.
Although, you do not have to sign up for all of the modules at once, a commitment to the program is important. Each module will build on skills learned in previous modules.
Class size will be small to create a more intimate group learning experience.
So early registration is advised.
The cost of each module is: $200.00
+ a small materials fee
